{SHOPPING} HOMEWARE SHOPPING IN SAVANNAH, GEORGIA- 24e DESIGN Co

Todays shopping guide is coming from Savannah, Georgia.

Technically it’s not a guide, more a big up to one particular shop which I came across on my travels recently. The shop is 24e DESIGN Co. Located 24 East Broughton Street in the center of Savannah.

I love supporting local businesses and this one just deserved a mention.

If you’re a Savannah local then you might already know the Joyner family and their store, since three generations have worked in the business.

The store is eclectic to say the least. Large vintage flags fly high above you when you enter and old typography letters are arranged on shelves.  The space is large, and it needs to be. Worn vintage sofa’s and steel metal trunks and filing cabinets fill the space which is spread across three floors.

There isn’t one particular style which was what made it so memorable. You can buy everything from Hollywood style brass bar carts to circus lights to low level beds and even the odd the plane panel…. Well actually I think it was a door from a plane.

You can buy lighting, candles, cushions chairs, tables and sofas, and they even offer personal upholstery so you can choose your own fabric and colour.

Furniture is old and new. The art is old and new. Some items will have a history, and some won’t. But the beauty of this shop is its not so obvious to tell the old and new apart.

The staff are ever so efficient too. I was warmly greeted by Carly Stoy the interior designer, and even though I was visiting from London and couldn’t pack a bar cart in my suitcase she was still extremely helpful.

So if you live in Savannah, or live nearby and are looking to buy some new furniture for your house make sure you take a trip to 24e DESIGN Co on Broughton Street. Happy shopping!
