Happy October Everyone!

Although I LOVE the summer I am definitely a fan of seasons, particularly the Autumnal months. I’m looking forward to getting snug in my dark moody lounge with plenty of sumptuous, rich textures to keep it cosy and warm.

This month I have collaborated with Wayfair for their Home Expert challenge to show you how to give your home an Autumn update through colour, pattern and texture.

My first choice is a teal Green microfiber throw from Workstadt at Wayfair  to update my lounge this autumn. The teal green shade adds warmth while the fabric is a plush microfibre which is soft to touch and perfect for snuggling under while watching a film.  And when it's not being used it works perfectly draped over my sofa to add a pop of colour to my dark lounge. It also ties in almost perfectly with my vintage teal velvet footstool which I recently got an antiques market, so teal is definitely my Autumn colour of choice.

My second Autumn update is one that's also super practical. A rug runner from world menagerie at Wayfair. We've got wooden floors through-out our house, so can be pretty drafty in the autumnal/ winter months to my husbands annoyance.  Adding a rug to a hallway, landing or even bedroom updates the space with a bit of colour, print and texture.  It's a win win in the cosy stakes! Plus it's super soft on the foot to walk on, and keeps the drafts out which is also pretty handy right now since we've been getting our loft renovated for the past month, and our house is super drafty due to the lack of roof coverage at the moment. And you might have guessed from the photos below of my landing and bedroom that I haven't quite decided which room this rug is going to remain in since it's so beautiful and soft. Pretty Versatile, huh?
