{SHOPPING} ANTIQUE SHOPPING AT KEMPTON PARK

{SHOPPING} ANTIQUE SHOPPING AT KEMPTON PARK

Today I made my first visit to Kempton park Antique's market in Sunbury, Surrey. Actually it was more of a pilgrimage, based on on my love of all things vintage.

Held at Kempton Park's race course ground, this place gives the Rose bowl in LA a run for its money on the antique front. With over 700 stalls, its one of the largest twice monthly markets in Britain and a must visit for all antique collectors, dealers and most importantly interior designers.

{SHOPPING} COSY THROWS - MY PICK OF THE BEST

{SHOPPING} COSY THROWS - MY PICK OF THE BEST

Hello Autumn!

It might only be the beginning of September but I’m already looking forward to those autumnal nights in with a scented candle and wrapped in a cosy throw. Naturally, this got me thinking how I need to buy a new throw and got me scanning the UK high-street offer for one that goes in our new-ish dark lounge and other styles too. From rustic country to scandi chic, to eclectic bohemian.

So go grab your wine, get comfy and start scrolling because hopefully I've chosen something that will appeal to everyone.

{SAVY SHOPPING} THE HOUSE OF HACKNEY HACK- DIY TASSEL LAMPSHADE

{SAVY SHOPPING} THE HOUSE OF HACKNEY HACK- DIY TASSEL LAMPSHADE

Today’s blog post is all about how you can re-create your own designer lampshade for a fraction of the price; let’s call it the House of hackney Hack! Even though it’s bound to get on House of hackney’s wick. Hackney… wick.. get it  (sorry, but I couldn’t help myself… taxi for Cotton). But as Oscar Wilde once said ‘Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery’, and if you learn anything from this post, it should be the knowledge that lamp covering isn’t that difficult and if I can do it, you certainly can.  So, let’s get started.

{SHOPPING} HOMEWARE SHOPPING IN KRAKOW

{SHOPPING} HOMEWARE SHOPPING IN KRAKOW

Shopping is my passion and my relentless search for original homeware never stops when I'm travelling. This week my work took me to Krakow, Poland. In the few minutes of downtime I had, I managed to squeeze in a little visit to the shops.

I went with no expectations which is always a bonus when visiting new cities, especially when Krakow surprises you with these beauts. If you're visiting, or live locally, then make sure you get down to these shops and support local Polish design.

{SHOPPING} FLOOR LAMPS - MY PICK OF THE BEST

{SHOPPING} FLOOR LAMPS - MY PICK OF THE BEST

I’ve been experimenting with lamps vs ceiling lights.

The ambience of a lamp cannot be beat by any ceiling light. Period. Yes, you could have a dimmer switch, but we're not in the 80’s, so why would you?

If you’ve seen my house then you’ll know that I’ve got plenty of both; lights and lamps. (No dimmer switches!) But sometimes I wonder if there’s ever such a thing as too many lamps?

I've scanned the highstreet and online offer of floor lamps to suit all budgets and looks.  These lamps are sure to leave their fellow competitors all in the shade!

Enjoy my pick of the best!
